Source: Russia mulls unmuting illegal online cinemas partly
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry and industry representatives are considering proposals to unblock the websites offering unlicensed video content of Western companies on some conditions, an industry source told PRIME on Thursday.
“Such video content should not be legally presented in the Russian online services, should not be run in cinemas, and should not contain extremist materials or LGBT propaganda,” the source said.
After the country had started its special military operation, many Western majors and streaming services, such as Disney, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, and Netflix, suspended Russian sales.
